Bedford, in central England is (for some reason) home to the largest Italian population in the UK! The town and its associated district of Kempton are home to around 80,000 people - of who no fewer than 2 in 7 are of at least partial Italian descent (2001 Census figures). Bedford's Italian population is largely the result of the London Brick Company - then located in the area - recruiting heavily in southern Italy in the 1950s.
That distinction aside, it's central location and good transport connections have made it a popular base for a variety of businesses.
