Cowdenbeath is a small town in south-west Fife, Scotland. Historically a coal mining town, today its population of around 12,000 people is less than half what it was in its coal-mining heyday. As well as offering good road connections via the M90 and A92, Cowdenbeath has a railway station on the Fife Circle Line which provides rail services to a number of local regional towns, including Edinburgh, Rosyth, Dunfermline and Inverkeithing.
Cowdenbeath is also known for its stock car racing circuit - Cowdenbeath Racewall, reputedly one of the fastest in the UK.
