London City Airport was built in the 1980s and is mainly used to serve the needs of London city's financial services industry. The airport has only one runway and access is restricted to STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) aircraft. Despite this, it serves nearly 2.5 million passengers each year - on both domestic and international flights.
