London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is one of the busiest in the world and is the UK's largest airport. With five terminals, Heathrow is used by more than 90 airlines serving nearly 200 destinations and handles around 65 million passengers every year. It has a daily average of 1,296 aircraft movements and on its busiest day ever, in 2004, handled 227,284 passengers.
Situated in the London Borough of Hillingdon, Heathrow is one of two airports located within Greater London; the other, London City Airport, is a much smaller affair close to the financial district of the city.
