The stunning cathedral city of Salisbury sits in a valley in the county of Wiltshire. The city originated in the Iron Age whilst the attractive cathedral dates back to the 11th century. Sitting on the edge of Salisbury Plain, a chalk plateau, Salisbury is ideally positioned as a base for visiting this famous area - including prehistoric Stonehenge.
