The town of Shrewsbury is home to more than 70,000 people and is within commuting distance of major West Midlands towns such as Wolverhampton, West Bromwich and Walsall, in addition to nearby Telford. First established in 800AD, Shrewsbury has been an important regional town for centuries and was on the front line of many historical conflicts between the English and the Welsh, thanks to its proximity to the Welsh border.
