One-Way Van Hire to Spain
Every year, lots of Britons decide to sell up and move to Spain to enjoy the relaxed lifestyle, warm weather and lower cost of living. While using a removal company is one option, it's an expensive one.
Doing your own removals with a hire van is much cheaper and can be surprisingly easy.
As far as we know, none of the large van hire companies allow one-way European trips - you have to return the van to the UK, even if it isn't the same town.

There are a couple of companies that specialise in offering this service - in fact, they do nothing else. Both the van hire companies listed below offer a service aimed specifically at people planning a move from the UK to Spain (or from Spain to the UK).

There are currently two ferry services running directly from the UK to Spain:
The P&O service takes around 36 hours, the Brittany service
takes around 24 hours and has newer ships.
The P&O service will end on 27th September 2010. From this date the only ferry service from the UK to Spain will be the Brittany Ferries service.
